On April 16th, 2025, I had the incredible honor of showcasing my senior capstone exhibit, In Bloom. It was an evening filled with emotion, reflection, and gratitude as I stood surrounded by my family, friends, faculty, and fellow art students—each person playing a part in my journey as an artist.

In Bloom is a deeply personal series of six paintings, each representing a different stage of grief. Through this work, I explored the complexities of loss, healing, and transformation, using flowers as symbols for each stage. This series was inspired by my dear friend, Atticus Cleaveland, who passed away in 2020. His memory and the impact he had on my life shaped the heart of this project, guiding me as I sought to express the journey of grief and resilience through art. Seeing these pieces displayed together, forming a visual narrative of grief and growth, was both surreal and fulfilling. Thank you to everyone who attended, shared their thoughts, and celebrated this milestone with me. In Bloom may have been a reflection on grief, but it was also a celebration of resilience, connection, and the beauty that emerges from even the darkest seasons of life.
